All Business

It's only Tuesday and I am so over work. On most days my job is fun. I love writing, blogging, coming up with campaign strategies, and searching for content for my clients' social media networks. But this week has been spent playing catch up due to my lack of bookkeeping effort. I was so behind on my Quickbooks entries I had to go back to March 2012. NOT good. The good news is I should have it finished up by tomorrow, and I will NEVER get that behind again!

The shopfast is still going well, and our March focus is India. I am trying to decide what to purchase for from MATA Traders. It's so hard to make a decision when you are only purchasing one item a month,  but it makes it ten times more fun than a usual purchase.

In other news, I got my hair trimmed today and I can SEE again! :)

Fun and Fabulous Friday!

I am so thankful it's Friday! This week has been absolutely nuts playing catch up from my Vegas trip. I am not complaining, as I am blessed to have some great projects going on right now, but I could sure use some down time.  My children's schedules alone are enough to keep me hopping. The plan is to grill steaks at home tonight, and visit with friends. The older I get, the more I appreciate evenings in!

The shopfast is going strong, and I am happy to report that my Banana Republic, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus cards are all paid off! We are having a card cutting party at church Sunday. I am a little nervous about saying goodbye to my Nordstrom notes, but I know myself.....and the card has to go. God has been so good to us, I can't afford not to be obedient on this. Old habits will come creeping for sure, and I need to be ready! Anyway, thank you all for your encouragement through this year, it helps keep me going! XO

An Hour and a Half Without Water

Top: Lucky Brand, Skirt: Kensie (Thrifted), Booties: Seychelles, Bag: Kate Spade
Sunnies: Marc Jacobs, Belt: J. Crew, Accessories: Target

Last night our water was out for an hour and a half. It was a great reminder of why I am committed to the cause of clean water, and raising money to build a well this month. I can't believe how many times I walked to the kitchen sink to turn on the faucet, remembering only then that the water was out. It must have been 10 times, no kidding.

This morning water was barely trickling out of the shower head, and instead of getting frustrated, I thanked God. I thanked Him for a hot shower, I thanked him for clean dishes, for laundry, and for quenching my thirst. I prayed for our well, and for the people in India that it will bless. It was awesome!

What perfect timing to be reminded of how blessed I am, and how important this cause is! My tiny little hour and a half without water was NOTHING compared to those who go without it daily.

5. Most Creative

I am so excited that it is November! Not only do I have a different outfit, I have a different outlook. This year is sure to bring much change in the selfishness that I have struggled with for years. My husband and I have talked a lot this week about ways to cut back, get caught up, give, and save. Scary, but freeing at the same time.

We have a big year ahead, and I am so excited about what God is doing through the 12 X 12 Project! The focus this month is hunger, and It has been awesome to see that so many are willing to jump on board. There is so much need, even right here in our county. I was at my daughter's school today for a walk-a-thon, and I was heartbroken tying the tattered shoes of one little girl. There were several children that looked like they hadn't had a bath in days. Dirty clothes and hair, but sweet smiles. As I handed a little boy his card after marking his lap, I called him by name and said, "good job." He looked up at me with big brown eyes and asked, "how do you know me?" I smiled back and pointed to his name on the card. In return I got a high five and a HUGE smile. I was happy to know him. I actually wanted to take him home, but that would have been kidnapping. :)

The changes and sacrifices I will be making over this year will be challenging, but I KNOW the rewards are going to be so much greater. Especially if the rewards are going to someone in need. I am blessed!
