Hi There

I'm back! Blue Ridge, Georgia was beautiful! We stayed in a beautiful cabin, enjoyed yummy food, took a train ride, hiked to a waterfall, and cuddled by the fire. I absolutely LOVE this week with my family. A time to just do nothing, and to spend uninterrupted time together. I turned another year older on New Years Eve, and I am welcoming 37 with a smile. 2013 is going to be a GREAT year!

My oufit today was inspired by this Pinterest pin. I don't own a long flowy dress, so I improvised with a long flowy skirt. I think it turned out well. I wish you all a very happy New Year, I am looking forward to getting back into my groove.

We had so much fun in St. Augustine that we decided to go back the following weekend! Well really, my husband had another trade show. We took all four of the kiddos and had a blast!! We enjoyed the beach, awesome tours, and way too much good food. I have a triathlon this Saturday, so this week is going to be green smoothie detox for me! :)

Honestly, I don't remember the last time we had this much fun all together. Now, there certainly were moments of pure insanity, (brought on mostly by the toddlers),  but I think my 17 year old even had a good time! He even helped my husband out with his booth at the show one day while I took the little ones to a movie. I am so thankful for these trips together, and I hope they will cherish these memories forever.....I know I will! :)

Snow Day, Vacation Finale!

Hubs bought me these socks for my rainboots, and they have been GREAT!! 

Last day of vacation. We head home tomorrow. I am excited to start the new year, but sad to leave this cozy cabin! We have had the best time, I am so thankful for these times together! We are headed to the arts and crafts district now, Alwine Pottery is one of our favorites! Can't wait to see what they are making today!

We are having a ball! EXCEPT for the fact that we had to make a visit to the local walk in clinic today. My oldest son has Pneumonia. NOT good, so prayers needed. But a shot in the buttocks and 3 scripts and he should be feeling better by tomorrow, fingers crossed. Poor guy, he was sad because he thought he would ruin our time. Mom and dad stayed with him today while we took the healthy cubs out to lunch, go-karting, and to the Jurassic Jungle Boat Ride with our sweet friends pictured above. So excited because tomorrow is my birthday, and what could be better than your husband planning a day at the spa and shopping for you?? I'll tell you what, he's coming with me for two treatments at the spa, and my best friend is joining me for the mani/pedi portion! If K is feeling better tomorrow night we will have a birthday dinner at one of my favorites, the Chop House. If not- it's steaks on the grill at the cabin and I am just fine with that too! As long as I am with my family that is all that really matters to me! How are you ringing in the New Year? XXOO

Mountain Getaway

Sorry, no photos today! Relaxing on a mountain top in Gatlinburg, TN. My iPad won't let me upload pictures to blogger. :( Unless there is something I don't know. If you have a trick please share!! We are napping, movie watching, and enjoying family time! With that said-I think it's time for a s'more. :)

Most likely you will see a part two of this post because there are SO many pictures I want to share! What a FANTASTIC trip! My husband and I had the most fun that we have had together in a LONG time! What a beautiful resort, and Jamaicans are the nicest, happiest people! I am wishing I was back there right now, although I did miss the kiddos like crazy! Back to reality!

I cut my hair, imagine that!! It happens a lot!  Especially when I am going on a trip, we are headed to Jamaica tomorrow to the Sandals Grande Rivera Resort! I can't WAIT to tell you all about it. Most of all I am looking forward to spending time with my husband to celebrate our 8 years of marriage! Bonus: my best friend and her husband are coming along too! So until then, here's to the 15 restaurants on the resort, climbing waterfalls, the beach, and time alone with my husband!

Could this week have gone by any faster??? Wow! I can't believe it. Memories made are priceless as in the years past. I have been going to the Driftwood Resort for 30 years now! What a special place it holds in my heart. I remember so much great family time spent with my parents and brother over the years. To now be able to share this tradition with my children is so very cool! I am back to the real world now though, laundry to do and work to catch up on. I am so very thankful that we are blessed to take a vacation, God is so very good. He reminded me of this as I watched the sunrise over the ocean this morning with Chris Tomlin's song "How Great is Our God" playing on my iPod. I hope that everyone has a fabulous weekend!
