Day 20-Are We There Yet?

Although I am thankful for this dress and this project, I am ready to see the end of October. I felt so much better when I ran into a fellow dress project participant and friend this morning at church. The first words out of her mouth were, "I'm over this dress!" I laughed and was so relieved to hear I wasn't alone. We laughed about washing it at random and weird times, and I told her my story of wanting to set mine on fire. It's moments like these that put a smile on my face and will keep me wearing the dress, for 11 more days.

Grab and Go!

I won't try to claim any amazing styling skills in regards to my outfit today. It was a grab and go day. So much so that I didn't notice my son's Nutella mustache or his un brushed hair until we were in the car and on the way to school. Wet Ones saved the day.

This morning's chain of events has me convinced that the best thing I ever did was grow my hair out, allowing me the option to pull it back. I am also convinced that you can make a hand-me-down tank top and boring skirt look great by layering necklaces and pairing them with other fun accessories. When in doubt, or in a hurry......accessorize! Happy Wednesday!

Day 24-"Countryfied"

It's day 24, can I get a Yee Haw??? I love this top but it always reminds me of a picnic tablecloth, and tying it up definitely adds a "countryfied" flare. I can't believe I only have six more days in this dress. It has gone by pretty quick I must say. I am excited to get back into my closet, but I am also nervous that temptation is going to start creeping. With the dress I have no choice, I must wear the dress. But out of the dress....I hope that I don't start to struggle with wants again. So far so good, so I will keep on keeping on.

I did get a little treat today, my bracelet from The Hunger Site that I will be wearing throughout November. It amazed me how excited I got over something that I would not have thought twice about purchasing prior to the 12X12 Project. It's actually refreshing to be jazzed over the little things, and oh how much more I appreciated opening that package!

Day 23-Newsworthy

So far, day 23 has been the most fun of all! It started off at MOPs where we heard an amazing message by Pastor Mark Bedwell. Then it was off to the park for interviews with News Channel 8. I was so excited when my amazing friend and news anchor,  Jennifer Leigh, contacted me after seeing the October Dress Project on my Facebook page. Tonight, a story will be running at 7pm featuring my sweet girlfriends, our mission, and of coarse...our dresses! Even better, we had the opportunity to share the 12X12 Project as well. God is really good and we are thrilled that our mission, and wearing a dress for 31 days really IS newsworthy! ;)

Day 8, Put a Bow on it!

I am really sad that it is still too hot to layer. The current Florida hot fest makes this dress SO hard to work with! Truth: I actually got a little frustrated today. Since I refuse to suffer in the Florida heat with added layers, my strategy was to put a bow on it. Belts, sashes, and necklaces will be my best friends until the temps drop.

Can a girlfriend get a cool breeze PLEASE???

Something Simple

I needed something simple today after all of my family drama! What is more simple than a plain white tee? Nothing in my opinion! Paired with denim shorts, I just threw on some accessories to jazz up this look! Better days are ahead...and in other positive news, I am caught up on my blog now!  :)

Sorry for my lack of posting lately, if you see my previous post, you will understand. New puppy had us fooled for a few days but the past few have been a nightmare. It's like having a baby all over again. My 10 year old can help, but when she is at school....and I am trying to work from home, it's ALL me! So needless to say, I have been a little swamped. I love how a bright clutch adds to a somewhat otherwise boring outfit such as this. As we get closer to our Florida summertime, I like to add interest to my looks without adding more clothing. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Loved this gate! So pretty! 

So boutiqueing in Vero is not very affordable! So many beautiful things that I would loved to take to the register, but with price tags so high I just couldn't do it. BUT that doesn't mean I didn't find some sweet purchases! Accessories are so important to changing up an outfit, and I did find some that were in my budget! I got a bangle too but it is wrapped up so cute in the Bliss Boutique bag that I just couldn't unwrap it yet...I know corny! :)
