Breaks, Blessings, and Bargains

Obviously, I have been on a break. If I can be completely honest, I don't think I have worn anything close to photograph worthy since my last post. I had strep throat for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I really had a hard time bouncing back. After that, I went through about a week where I lived in my workout clothes, even if I didn't workout-just so I wouldn't have to style something. Everyone needs a break.

Before Thanksgiving, we received a huge blessing. As I mentioned my husband took a new job and was three weeks in when he got a call from a company that he had interviewed with prior. They offered him the Vice President of Sales position, and it's LOCAL! This was job number one on his list when he was looking. He is back in the industry that he loves with a wonderful company, and an amazing boss that has so much confidence in him. I am so proud. I get choked up at random times, thinking about how good God has been to us this past year, especially through the bad times. It overwhelms me to see his blessings poured out on my husband and my family.

As far as bargains, I found this top at a thrift shop. I think someone made it, because there are no tags and you can tell by the stitching. I absolutely love it! Happy weekend friends, it's good to be back!

It's Fine to Consign!

Cardigan: J. Crew, Jeans: Joe's, Top: Free People, Flats: Target

Let me tell you why it's fine to consign, this Free People top! One of my favorite second hand stores is having a moving sale, and I scored this top for 50% off, never worn, and still had the tags on it! I LOVE it! I also scored some fantastic clothes for the kids. I didn't have a CLUE what I was missing before I adopted thrifting and consignment shopping. It's amazing what blessings budget cuts bring. Yes....I just said that! :)

In Honor of my 90th Follower

T-Shirt: Banana Republic, Skirt: Thrifted (Goodwill), Tights: Hue,
Booties: Seychelles, Necklace: Vintage

Watch: Michael Kors
Today I celebrate my 90th follower! I am not quite sure who it was that brought me to this mile marker, but thank you!! It was a little over a year ago that this blog really started happening, and I am so honored that anyone actually follows me. I didn't realize just how fun it would be to blog, share my outfits, take pictures of myself in my sitting room (ha!), and to get inspiration and encouragement from other bloggers. It is a part of my day that I so look forward to. I am blessed that my job provides rare opportunities to dabble in fashion PR which is my ultimate dream, I just live in the wrong city. Well, that...and I am currently swamped raising children! I am so thankful for this blog because it allows me to do something I love whenever I want to....so I thank you for reading, and for commenting, and for following! XXOO

Three Cheers for Thrifting!

Dress: Antonio Melani, $5.00 at Goodwill

Compliments can be a girls best friend on some days. It's like the Lord knows when we need a little pick me up! I got multiple compliments on my dress today, and it only cost me a whopping $5.00 at my local Goodwill! I never used to thrift. If it had been owned or worn before I wouldn't even consider it. What was I thinking??? I am now in love with the GREAT finds at my local thrift stores! Some of the items I have found have still had the tags on them-SCORE! The good thing about Lakeland thrift stores is that other than Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger-no one knows the designer brands. This means HUGE discounts on stellar brands! This makes me happy.....and my shopping budget very happy! Do you like to thrift?

Stuart Weitzman, Thrifted for me by my amazing friend,  $12.00!!!!
When my dear friend Trisha texted me Saturday about a pair of unworn Stuart Weitzman pumps she found in MY size for $12.00, I KNEW she loved me! Want to show your love? Thrift for a friend! I was so excied that I had to wear them today. I thought to myself, WHO would donate these to Goodwill??? WOW! I had to be comfortable today, so I knew my new to me shoes would jazz up my look. Apparantly so did Trisha!
