Day 13: October Dress Project

The Dress, Scarf: Loft, Belt: J. Crew, Shoes: Target, Earrings: Stella & Dot

This is what it looks like to not have a care in the world! I love it!!!
A day of work, Dr. appointments, and some play time with my baby boy! Having four children, I don't have many opportunities to spend one on one time, so I soak it up when I can. His idea of a super treat: swinging in the back yard...and I can do that! His happiness and willingness to go with the flow is inspiring to me. I hope he stays this way forever!

Day 12: October Dress Project

The Dress, Top: Ann Taylor/Thrifted, Belt: Target, Shoes: Seychelles, Bag: Big Buddah

Watch: Michele, Bracelet: Stella & Dot

I never wear big earrings, so a close up was needed! Bought these at
Penelope's a Vero Beach boutique
The only blues I am feeling today are the colbalt blues-a hot trend for fall! I thrifted this shirt and LOVE it! I didn't mind the dress so much today, and I actually washed if for the first time in 3 days so it smells fabulous! Don't freak, it was gently worn and not too dirty! Oh you HAVE to check out this blog post by my SUPER talented friend Rachel Absher! She did the photography for our True Style fall photo shoot. They are sooooo good I could cry! She is amazing and I can't wait to see more!

Day 11: Pirate Party!

Today, the dress became a costume. Our MOPs Birthday Bash was this morning and we had so much fun! I was so impressed by the creativity of all of the moms in our group. All of the tables looked GREAT, we had everything from Candyland to Camping! I love these ladies, and look forward to Tuesday mornings!

Day 10: October Dress Project

The Dress: Top: Vans, Shoes: Tory Burch
Today I ran 3 miles, and a bunch of errands! We have three parties this weekend- two birthday parties, and one baby shower! I also made a chicken piccata dinner for a friend of mine, pumpkin dessert bars, and pirate cupcakes for our MOPS birthday bash tomorrow. I am exhausted! Still rocking the dress though! Happy Monday!

Day 9: Feelin' Fine

The Dress, Capelet: Banana Republic, Necklace: Stella & Dot,  Bag: Kenneth Cole
Shoes: BCBG, Watch: Michael Kors

It may have been raining all day again, but I couldn't feel gloomy after our church service! The music and our pastor were on fire, and I could feel God working. At the end of the service, we had impromptu baptisms. About 10-15 people came to be baptized, some to start living for Christ, and some to start over. I left with tears streaming down my face, thinking of His grace, and how He loves us. I felt so proud of those who came with no change of clothes-but left with changed hearts. How wonderful that we can start, or start over at any time....no questions, no judgement! What a wonderful God!

Day 8: It's Raining!

The Dress, Top: Banana Republic, Hat: Greenflea Flea Market NYC, Beads: Vintage
Rain boots: Hunter
After I was dressed for the occaision, our little girl's soccer game was cancelled due to rain. But, a rainy Saturday afternoon nap will totally make up for the disappointment, and no....I am not napping in the dress!

Day 7: October Dress Project

The Dress, Belt: Target, Shoes: Kohls, Bag: Thrifted, Necklace: My Grana's
Today was the first day that I did NOT want to wear the dress. But I powered through. Dinner and pie with our friends motivated me! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Day 6, October Dress Project

The Dress, White T: Walmart, Fedora: Husband's, Sunnies: Tom Ford,
Shoes & Belt: Target, Necklace: Stella & Dot

Stole my husband's hat today, really helped with the fact that I didn't want to fix my hair! Busy day running around crazy, planning a surprise for my friend who is bringing home her baby girl today! Another friend and I hijacked a key to their house so that we could stop by, tidy up, and leave her a little welcome home yumminess! Tonight, I will bake a chocolate pie to surprise another friend tomorrow evening. Thank goodness all of these treats are for others or I may not fit into this dress for the next 25 days!

Day 5: Let's Celebrate!

The Dress, Vintage Tunic, Beads: thrifted at What's New Consigment, Bracelets: mixed
Belt: Banana Republic, Shoes: Plenty by Tracy Reese, Bag: Michael Kors

Day 5 is a GREAT one! My close friend Courtney, had her baby girl early this morning! I am wearing this in her honor as she bought it for me at a vintage yard sale that I couldn't attend! She is like that, so  thoughtful and kind....which is going to make her the BEST mommy! I am off now to bake her some homemade chocolate chip cookies! Happy Wednesday everyone!

Day 4: Temptation!

The Dress, Top: Old Navy, Bag: Ross, Shoes: Miz Mooz,
Necklace: Vintage,
Bracelets, mixed

I was doing just fine with this whole "not shopping" thing until I saw an m. marie sale on Big Harry Deals! Let me just say, Meghan the boutique owner has the BEST style and her store is filled with wonderful treasures for the fashion lover! But I couldn't do it! I couldn't make the purchase. I have committed, and I have only a short 27 days to go. These challenges are good for me, and I know that it will be very rewarding in the end as I let God teach me about what is really important in life. But...here's to hoping she has another sale after my 27 days are up! :)

Day 3 of 31-October Dress Project

The Dress: Flower: Fancy Flea Chick, Shoes: Nicole Miller, Bangles: Mixed

My sweet friend Andrea, Star of Halloween Wars on Food Network, with her family

Fans that came to the premier party!

Left: My best friend A! Right: Sweet friend L!

Decor and details for the party were adorable!!!

Favorite musicians! George and Lemay

What I really wore on day 3 to the beach! At least I am honest!
I took a pass, and wore day 3 on the evening of day 2, so that I wouldn't have to wear the dress to the beach. There is NO way my dress is beach appropriate, and I couldn't take a chance of ruining it. What a great week celebrating Andrea! Her premier party, followed by a trip to the beach for her birthday. It was a PERFECT day, except for the flat tire...now that was an adventure, but we got help from the Road Ranger and were back on our way in no time! Sunning, laughing, and enjoying dinner at sunset-it doesn't get much better that that!

Day 2 of 31-The Dress Project

The Dress, Top: Banana Republic, Clutch: Nine West, Shoes BCBG
Necklace: Bealls Outlet, Bracelet: Stella & Dot

In this shot, you can't even tell I am wearing the dress! How's that for creative? Ha!
Happy Day 2!!! What a perfect Sunday! Banana and chocolate chip pancakes, church, afternoon run, and a nap! Tonight is my sweet friend Andrea's debut on the Food Network's Halloween Wars! 9pm EST! Watch it and cheer her on! We will be attending a premier party in her honor, and I will be wearing the dressed re-styled yet again! I am asking for a pass to use the 2nd styling of today as my day 3 photo,  because tomorrow I am taking the day off to help her celebrate her birthday at the beach! I fear this dress would be totally wrecked at the beach, and I can't have that on only day 3! I hope everyone has had a fantastic weekend!!!

October Dress Project

The Dress: Merona for Target, $9.08

So who would wear the same dress for 31 days? These girls! We are doing it again folks! Last year I rocked November inspired by girlfriends that participated in the October 2010 project! Why am I doing it? I tend to not appreciate my closet or utilize my accessories before heading out to shop for more. This is 31 days of using what I have to change up the look of this dress, and appreciating what's hanging in my closet that I can't wear. Finally, NO shopping! Why are others doing it? Read about it here. These photos are by the fabulous Nate Mundell. The first shots are the origninal 4 of us from last year. As you can see, we have brought along some friends! So wish me luck, I am going to need all of the encouragement I can get! I'm off now to enjoy wearing something other than "the dress" for the last time in 31 days! Cheers!

TRESemme Dry Shampoo

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of TRESemmé for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

So a reader recently asked how I keep my hair so shiny, and I am going to share my secret! I use TRESemme' Fresh Start Dry Shampoo, and here are some tips for the best results:

- Shake vigorously before use and in between spray bursts for best results.

- Lift sections of dry hair and spray lightly at roots.

- Spray in short bursts, holding 8-12 inches from head.

- Don’t spray it like hair spray (all over and continuously).

- Leave in for 1-2 minutes.

- Use fingertips or a brush to distribute product evenly.

- If clogging occurs, remove nozzle and rinse the nozzle under warm water, then reattach.

I absolutely love this brand, they have a complete line of dry shampoos that will revive your style's look and feel on days you skip a shampoo. Anyone with short hair knows this is a MUST, as I usually have to wash my hair daily to keep it from looking too oily.

This product is uniquely formulated to absorb excess oil and remove odor, and the full line of dry shampoos rejuvenate hair without a drop of water. With a renewing burst of citrus extracts infused into every product, it leaves hair with a clean, fresh scent.

- The full line includes:

o Strengthening Dry Shampoo: The formula, with B12 vitamins and keratin, helps strengthen hair and leaves it full of healthy body.

o Volumizing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with mineral clay and citrus, removes oil while injecting hair with salon-gorgeous volume.

o Smoothing Dry Shampoo: The formula, with Vitamin H & Silk Proteins, refreshes your straight style by removing excess oil, impurities and odor to ensure your smooth look lasts.

o Moisturizing Waterless Foam Shampoo: The formula, with Witch Hazel, Citrus, and Aloe Vera, refreshes your hair by removing excess oil, impurities and odor while moisturizing hair.

Jamacian Me Crazy!

Scenic bus ride to the resort

These were AWESOME for sun tanning!

The main pool

Michael assisted the chef in a cooking class, this was his masterpiece! :)

This gentleman made woven hats, and cups out of bamboo! We got one, so COOL!

I joke this is going on the next brochure! Ha Ha
Most likely you will see a part two of this post because there are SO many pictures I want to share! What a FANTASTIC trip! My husband and I had the most fun that we have had together in a LONG time! What a beautiful resort, and Jamaicans are the nicest, happiest people! I am wishing I was back there right now, although I did miss the kiddos like crazy! Back to reality!
