The Print Mix
It's been quite some time since an outfit post because honestly, I have been just plain bored with my limitations this winter. I haven't worn a pair of boots once. Exhibit A above: sandals in December.
Today I decided to liven things up with a mix of prints. Outfit boredom, be gone. :)

Not Your Grandma's Skirt
Well, actually......this IS my Grandmother's skirt. Even better, she made it herself. I wonder where she wore it, and what she paired it with. I love that she chose this fun print, and wearing it really makes me wish I knew how to sew. Maybe one day....sigh.
This is the last month of the shop fast. We have been reflecting on all of the great things that we have accomplished during this year during The 12X12 Project. Our local magazine, The Lakelander is going to do a recap for us in December that is sure to be awesome. I am so excited for everyone to hear the details and special stories.
It has been a year of change for me. There have been so many ups and downs, but it has been one of the best years of my life. I have learned to be satisfied with less, and that has allowed me to adapt to the roller coaster we have been on this year. I have learned to sit back and enjoy the sweet spots, and to trust God when times were uncertain. He has great plans for us all, I just know it!

Notes to Self
Note to self: The next time I wear this skirt, photos should be taken before I have sat in it all day. Pardon my wrinkles.
Note to self: I can't always please everyone, nor should I expect to always be pleased by others.
People disappoint us, people talk. It hurts. Love them anyway.
Note to self: Don't expect from others what they are not capable of giving.
People disappoint, people ignore. It hurts. Pursue them anyway.
Note to self: My security is in Christ.
He always loves, always protects, always provides.
I needed a few reminders today as you can tell. My hope is they come in handy for you as well. XO

The Day Job
The minute I accepted today for what it was, I felt peace. I keep thinking now that the kids are back in school I am finally going to get to do my day job. It hasn't really happened yet. Take this morning as an example. When I left to drop everyone off at school, I was SO very uneasy about the aftermath of the tornado(s) that apparently swept through my home. Dressed head to toe for work, I turned my car around and headed right back here to straighten up and organize. That's just how it is. Today, I accepted that my day job includes being a housewife, and sometimes getting that done is more important than any task at my office! So cheers to cleaning in style! :)

Top: Marshalls clearance rack YEARS ago! Skirt: J. Crew, Shoes: Charles David, c/o Marshalls, Bracelets: Stella & Dot |
I am totally post...posting! That would be because I am still in my workout clothes from this morning. These pics are from our beach trip last week. My husband and I took the littles to the beach last Friday and spent the night. We had the BEST time! I was able to work on the drive down, and when we got there, I put aside my iPhone and iPad and had some fun in the sun with the best people on earth, my family! I love mini breaks, and as much as I love all six of us together, it was nice to spend quality time with my husband and the littles! I got a few compliments on my outfit when I arrived at the hotel, and two of them said, I would never think to put that together! To me, that is a score! :)
